What is my favorite plaid skirt?
Well I have a lot of opinions on this because there is a lot available and you can get them in all sorts of patterns and colors. Really when it comes to the skirt itself, it really doesn't matter. What you're looking for is the proper color. One of the best colors you're going to run into is the the red plaid mini skirt. This is the traditional color that most associate with the Catholic school girl. It's a really exciting one too because of the color it offers and the interesting appeal it provides to those that wear it.
It offers a lot of options with the types of clothes you can wear with it. You can keep it simple with white thigh high socks and a simple white button up shirt. Or you can change it up and go with something a little more your style.
Do White Plaid Skirts Exist?
I have yet to see anything that is white, and what white would be would be mainly white blocks with thin lines of other colors. I've yet to find anything like that. The problem really exists with other colors. Usually if the other lines are pink, then it would be a pink skirt. If the lines are blue, it is a blue skirt. But it really is your choice on what you do when it comes to this. It probably would better to go with a much more traditional type of skirt that is plaid.
If I was to think of one, I would definitely check out the yellow plaid skirt. This is something that is a little more bright and a little more out there. When you wear yellow you really have to wear it with confidence because it is something that stands out. You're going to be looked at and that's something you have to be comfortable. Actually most plaid outfits generate a lot of looks, especially on women, so definitely be prepared what could arrive.
Orange plaid mini skirts are completely non-existent as well. I know that it might seem like something you may want and I actually think it would probably look good, but sadly I've yet to find one. I really like orange too because it is something very earthy about it, yet bright. It is something that matches the leaves in fall and provides a nice look. An alternative to this color would be brown plaid. And actually this is probably about the most conservative type of plaid you can get. Wearing a brown skirt is something that can be quite business casual. You can wear this in the office and you'll blend in perfectly. It has a nice design, but also it looks great.
What are other interesting skirt colors?
Well, I have to say one that you don't see often is the purple plaid skirt. This is something that actually looks quite good. Purple is a color that very closely resembles pink. The only difference is that it is slightly darker. I find that when the darker the color, the more it looks like plaid and can take on a decent look. You can wear this a lot of different ways. Dress it up as something a little more friendly for the office, or dress it down into something fun for going out. It's a bold color and a lot of women like that. It's also different, so be prepared to stand out more than normal.
Black plaid is something that I hear often with skirts, but this is really more of a complimentary color to the skirt itself. That just means the black is a trim or a line that produces the plaid pattern. But you can get a lot that look like a black plaid if you stick with relatively dark colors and such. This is a trickier color to find, but it does exist and you can definitely go with black if that is something that you're looking for.
Blue plaid mini skirts are a very interesting color to go with because they just seem to have a cool looking vibe to them. It definitely can play the schoolgirl look, but it also has a colorful flavor to be something different. You can go traditional or you can mix up your matching clothes. You can play with your hair too and get a very interesting style going. Imagine how you would look if you had two pigtails with blue ribbons on them to match the skirt? Yeah, it would look great.
The last color that you're going to find for plaid skirts is grey. This is something that is pretty nice because it can go both ways. You can wear this in a business environment, assuming that it isn't too short. But you can also style it up and look good if you were to go out to a night club or a rave. Grey is one of those neutral colors that doesn't really stand out, but this is something that you can really work with to get just about any look you want.
